Being Greek means more than just wearing Greek letters, attending meetings, and going to parties. Being in a fraternity/sorority is about making friendships that will last far beyond your college years while enhancing your personal development by committing to ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service. Greek individuals comprise only 2% of the population of the United States. However, this 2% is a very powerful group of individuals.
  • Of the nations 50 largest corporations, 43 are led by fraternity men and sorority women.
  • Greeks raise over $7 million for charity every year.
  • Over 85% of the student leaders on some 730 campuses are involved in the Greek community
  • All but eight U.S. Presidents have been fraternity men since 1825 when the first social fraternity was founded. Today, 76% of all U.S. Congressmen and Senators are Greek.
  • A U.S. Government study shows that over 70% of all those who join a fraternity/ sorority graduate, while under 50% of all non-fraternity/sorority persons graduate.
  • Approximately 85% of the top executives of Fortune 500 companies belong to a fraternity or sorority.
  • Less than 2% of an average college student's expenses go toward Greek membership dues.

Delta Zeta's new member program goals reflect the purpose of the Sorority as described in our Constitution, and reflect the vision of the National Council to instill pride, loyalty and commitment in every Delta Zeta. Those goals are:
  • To educate each New Member of the responsibilities of membership and create a respect for the core values and principles of the sorority.
  • To promote a sense of belonging and involvement with the chapter among each New Member.
  • To educate each New Member about life long commitment to Delta Zeta Sorority.
  • To provide educational opportunities for personal growth.
